Hydrogen’s role in the food chain receives little attention, yet it is an essential ingredient in our food. People should rightfully expect to be nurtured and sustained by hydrogen.
The more we run on hydrogen, which comes from sources that do not require insulin, the more heightened hydrogen’s anti-aging effect. Researchers discovered that NAD+ levels decline with age but are raised by calorie restriction and exercise.
Insulin’s job is to mobilize the body to respond to food intake. The hormone released into the blood ensures many systems to mobilize quickly. The insulin receptor conveys these signals to the body tissues, so nutrients are used as needed or stored as fat.
Calorie restriction induces a reduction in the insulin signaling pathways (both through IGF-I and insulin). This reduction in insulin signaling is one of the primary mechanisms through which calorie restriction increases lifespan.
High blood insulin levels are usually the result of high blood glucose levels. High insulin levels signal a high “nutritional state,” which shifts the cell’s internal states toward increased growth levels and decreased repair levels. Increases in growth and decreases in repair equal increases in waste products that accumulate within a cell, ultimately causing aging at the cellular level.
Hydrogen in the body is mostly bound to carbon, oxygen and nitrogen. It is part of almost every molecule in your body: DNA, proteins, sugars, fats. The hydrogen bond – which forms between atoms that share a hydrogen atom, is one of the most important interactions that make biological molecules behave as they do. Thus, hydrogen is an important factor in the regulation of physiology.
Hydrogen has no calories yet can send rockets into space. Hydrogen burns cleaner than any other fuel. When we look at the fact that food is our fuel, and hydrogen being the easiest and cleanest fuel to run on, we start to get the idea of how hydrogen is a functional nutrition and why it will extend our lives.
In two clinical trials using 3000 ml/min or 3 L/min hydrogen inhalation in 431 and 1088 type-2 diabetes patients, it was found that it significantly improves glycemic control, weight, insulin dose, lipid metabolism, β-cell function and insulin resistance of patients with type 2 diabetes after 6 months. They applied 1-6 hours hydrogen inhalation daily for the studies. This is great news for all those who love to eat! One can clearly note the shrinking of bad stomach fat within a few sessions, its incredible how its all achieved by the cleanest and smallest antioxidant possible.
Although these studies are limited to diabetes patients, I wouldn’t be surprised that high-volume hydrogen inhalation, and Oxydrogen inhalation may show rapid effects in its already accepted uses at lower doses for cancer, stroke, lung function and musculoskeletal disorders. I certainly find that 1-2 hours at 1500-3000 ml/min while waking up in the morning sets me up for a long and mostly productive day of writing, babysitting, teaching, talking, playing the guitar or tennis. What also makes my day, is when I hear from our clients that it helped them sleep well and feel better.
