“While this book is written to existing friends and family, it is also intended for my future generations so that they learn who we were, our joys and struggles and how our faith in God helped us get through them.”
NORWALK, Conn. (PRWEB) July 26, 2023
Oscar Destruge, a retired senior pastor at El Camino United Methodist Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, is hoping to reach more readers throughout the world with the Spanish and recent Greek translations of his faith-inspired work “The Blood of My Blood, A Journal of Bible Meditations.”
To help people rediscover the joy and purpose of living and sharing God’s abundant love, Destruge shares with readers daily Bible meditations that include daily assigned Bible readings, his explanations and applications of those texts, and insights into his personal and family life.
Destruge, who is originally from Ecuador and emigrated to the United States at age 10, explained that he had the book translated into Spanish and Greek to share with loved ones but also to reach new readers.
“While this book is written to existing friends and family, it is also intended for my future generations so that they learn who we were, our joys and struggles, and how our faith in God helped us get through them,” he said. “As a retired minister of Christ, my desired objective is to plant seeds of love, hope, and faith in as many souls as may be interested to learn more about God, our faith, and family history. Throughout the book, I sprinkled bits of family history, anecdotes, challenges, and encouragement for friends, family, and future generations. It makes a huge difference when we can read about God’s loving intervention in our own language.”
With the book’s English version, Destruge received positive feedback from readers who found the meditations to help bring the scripture to life for them on a daily basis, to touch their hearts and minds with God’s word, and to provide a sense of solace and encouragement.
“I’ve heard all positive feedback from friends and family who have started using the book as part of their daily devotions,” he said. “The question I hear more often is: ‘Are you planning to publish more books?’ I intend to do more writing in the future.”
The English version of “The Blood of My Blood, A Journal of Bible Meditations” is available on Amazon as well as the Spanish and Greek translations.
