I’m a chartered physiotherapist with a wealth of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions: disorders affecting bones, joints and muscles. I love working with people to help them recover from illness or injury and to discover the power of Clinical Pilates.

As a Physiotherapist I know that my future quality of life depends on me looking after my body. It is proven that people who exercise regularly live longer, healthier lives.

Stiff and painful joints affect how we move and how we feel, and back pain is the single largest cause of disability in the UK with around one third of the population affected each year. Slouching, slumping, and other types of poor posture can cause muscle tension, as well as back pain, joint pain, and reduced circulation. Poor posture can even lead to breathing issues and fatigue.

The good news is that evidence supports Pilates to improve your balance, the strength of muscle and bone, joint flexibility and muscular control; all of which improves your physical performance and quality of life. I have heard so many times from my clients that attending a Pilates class only once a week makes a huge difference to how they feel and perform physically and mentally.

Put Pilates together alongside Hatha Yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditation and you have the elixir of life. Well almost, stay supple to reduce the risk of injury and manage age related deterioration of muscle and bone. But best of all this investment in body maintenance, overall health and wellness will yield huge dividends for the quality of life moving forwards.

As a clinician I use evidence based movement techniques to treat many orthopedic conditions including knee pain, low back pain, shoulder problems and even neck pain. My approach takes clients from rehabilitation through to recovery and beyond. But you don’t have to be injured or ill to benefit and I have worked with hundreds of people to help them feel fitter, stronger and healthier.
